UNIVERSITY & RESEARCH INSTITUTE EXPERIENCE

Our work with the University sector includes assignments in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. To-date we have worked with some 42 Universities in Oceania including 7 of the GO8 Australian Universities to assist various aspects of change in the sector.

We have assisted strategic planning at the Executive Team, Faculty and School level as well as working with Professional Services Units on performance and service development. We have facilitated retreats, conducted developmental assessments of Executive teams and coached several Vice Chancellors and their direct reports.

We have conducted flagship leadership development programs for current academic and professional services leaders, for aspiring (future) leaders and for leaders in transition stepping back from Head of Dept roles to research or other career choices.

We have conducted numerous in-house development programs for ECR/MCR researchers and for Associate Dean/Research groups as well as Engaging with Industry programs to assist researchers to generate relationships and revenue beyond government funding.

We have worked with a significant number of health and biomedical research institutes to train researchers and group leaders including Garvan, WEHI, Baker HRI, ARMI, IHMRI, QIMR-Berghofer, Mater Health, IHBI, TRI, Charles Perkins, and Sydney Research Partners.

We have assisted the redesign of University performance review and development processes and trained people managers in the skills required to provide feedback, and coaching.

We have assisted scientific leaders develop mentoring skills to better invest in the development of their junior researchers.

We have worked in partnership with AHEIA (Australian Higher Education Industry Association) to conduct a national program for Universities in reducing bullying & harassment in the sector.

We have conducted reviews of governance structures and of research activities and have been appointed as a member of program review committees.

Public sector experience

We have assisted a large number of Australian Federal and State public sector agencies with significant change projects including Health, Justice Health, Tourism, Education, Defence, Agriculture, Forestry, Research & Development, Human Services, Corrections, Water, Justice, Treasury, Finance, Roads, Economic Development, and Transport organisations.

We were selected by the Australian Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet to assist the national Aboriginal Reconciliation Council in its planning and by the NSW Minister for Health to chair a multi-disciplinary committee charged with changing the professional boundaries between medicine and nursing. We were appointed as the leadership consultant for a major NSW Police Reform project and to assist leadership development of indigenous native title service providers. We have managed one of the largest public sector change programs in Australia: a 6 year project to change the culture of Prison Management in NSW.

Private sector experience

We have been commissioned by some of Australia’s leading organisations to assist development of their strategic human resources functions, to facilitate management retreats, to design and deliver leadership and management development programs and to review culture and behaviour of operational units. Through our work with Australian Business Schools we have also delivered Executive development and coaching services. Organisations who have chosen us range across a number of business segments including banking (Macquarie Bank), manufacturing (Boral), telecommunications (Optus), biomedical (Genetic Signatures), pharmaceutical (MS&D), professional services (Gilbert & Tobin), healthcare (Ramsay), and resources (Shell).
